How things appear to shrink.

Frequently people ask me about what size Barn Quilt they should be ordering.  The obvious answer is, "That depends...."

A panel to be displayed on the front of your house would be pretty comfortable at 24" square.

Example:

The upper design is 24". the lower one is 16".

Displays on fence posts can be smaller, like the 16" in the photo above.
BQ's posted on fences can be about any size, depending on distance from the road.
Example:  36"

Then... when things get to distance and elevation, they really shrink.  36", 48" or even 8 ft square are not unusual.
Examples:
48" square.

48" at ground level.

36" above the door.

48" at ground level.

8 ft square on barn.

My opinion is that "bigger is better."

Have fun!
