Can you host a class?

Good Morning! What would you think of hosting a 4 hour painting class?  Art panels and paints, etc. are supplied.  Just bring clothes that you might get paint on. It only takes 6 people to hold a class. Barn quilts from these classes are painted on aluminum panels with exterior paint that should be expected to last 50+ years.  The same materials are used by state and national parks.  I bring about 200 colors of latex paint to the class. Classes are best with limited to 4-5 hours.  Longer than that people start falling asleep. Occasionally I send paint home with a participant so they can finish at their convenience. You can see photos from classes at www.TheBarnQuilter.net .  In the past I have held classes at John A. Logan College, the Herrin and Carterville community centers, SIH offices, Plantscape and in my own studio (garage.) Cost of the class depends on the size they choose.  16"=$50, 24"=$75 (most popular) & 30" = $100. Please give m...

art therapy continued...

Art Painting Therapy: A Canvas for Healing Art painting therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses the creative process of making art to explore and express emotions, thoughts, and experiences. It's a powerful tool for individuals of all ages to process complex feelings, build self-esteem, and enhance problem-solving skills. How Does It Work? In art therapy, the focus isn't on creating a masterpiece, but on the process itself. Through guided exercises and open-ended activities, individuals can:  * Express emotions: Art provides a non-verbal outlet for feelings that are difficult to put into words. F tv  * Improve communication: Visualizing thoughts and feelings can facilitate deeper self-understanding and communication with others.  * Build self-esteem: Creating something tangible can boost confidence and self-worth.  * Manage stress: The act of creating can be a meditative and calming experience.  * Process trauma: Art can help individuals explore and process...

Title: The Utilization of Quilts for Messages during the Civil War and Underground Railroad Introduction: During the Civil War era and the Underground Railroad, quilts played a significant role in conveying messages and providing secret codes to aid in the escape of enslaved individuals. These quilts, known as "quilt codes" or "freedom quilts," served as a clever means of communication among abolitionists and slaves seeking freedom. This report will explore the history and significance of quilts, their symbolism, and their use as messages during these tumultuous times. The Historical Context: 1. The Civil War: The Civil War, fought from 1861 to 1865, saw the United States torn apart by conflicts surrounding slavery and states' rights.
